BLOG 2 QUESTION C.

c. ~ On p. 14 Yossarian tells the Chaplain, "Insanity is contagious. This is the only sane ward in the whole hospital. Everybody is crazy but us." What does he mean by this? Similarly, who is the only person in the ward that nobody likes and why don't they like him. Explain what the demeanor of that person's eventual effect was upon the ward. This issue of insanity has already been repeated multiple times; who, in your opinion, exhibits the most insane tendencies thus far (be sure you are providing specific examples from the text)?

I think he meant everyone is crazy for being in the ward in the first place. I think he feels like he souldn't be in the ward. Everybody dislikes Yossarian because he thinks everybody is against him. The reason being that he thiknks everyone is only trying to kill him. I think Yossarian is the most insane person because he thinks everybodies against him.

blog post 3 question 2

2. According to Joseph Heller, “The only freedom we really have is the freedom to say no.” Explain what you think he means by this statement; then debate its philosophical merits. Do you agree or disagree with him? Support your opinion with examples from historical and personal experience. For example, how does the above statement compare with the “just say no” catchphrase from the war against drugs?

Well, really I agree that saying no is a freedom and a way and sometimes its not. The reason i say yes is because its your choice to say either yes or no to drugs. Even though your friends may do drugs dont mean you have to do the same. Its your choice if you want to mess up your life are not.
I disagree with him we have more freedoms in our life then to say no. We have the freedom to speak, choose our religion, and many more. So i have to disagree with him on that one.

I think the settings put u in that place. It helps u visualize whats really going on. Its almost like u can see, hear, and feel what the characters do. From the base to the hospital scene is crazy. Itsm like on mintute he was on the base in the middle of war and suddenly he's in the hospital talking about everybodies tryin to kill him.

If the story had been written different i think the meaning of the story would be different. Why? because it changes the story. People would look at the story different and would taken into a different direction. No, the book would have different meanings because the of how its written. The style of the story is what makes the story.
